I read an interesting article in the Ottawa Citizen the other day, about how Nepal has set up a travel agency for gay and lesbians. It’s called The Pink Mountain Agency, and one of its founders is the only openly gay member of parliament in the country. There will be adventure sports, safaris, treks on Everest (you can even get married up there if you want – if your partner doesn’t die on the way up).

Although Nepal is considered old-school when it comes to homosexuality, they have become a lot more gay-friendly in the past few years.

Read the Ottawa Citizen article.

Gay Hong Kong is coming out. This emerging confidence among the gay community means a growing number of hotspots in this vibrant Asian city and an increased acceptance of gay travel in Hong Kong. Still, due to cultural pressures and old taboos, many gay Asians don’t come out to friends and family, so you’ll find most gay spots in Hong Kong are somewhat tucked away, off the beaten path a bit.

Most gays and lesbians live among the expats in Hong Kong Island’s Central neighbourhood. Gay clubs, bars and shops stretch between Central’s Soho and Lan Kwai Fong sections. Compared to other Asian cities, Hong Kong has a pretty visible gay community, and the LGBT social scene is solid. So, what are your options for gay bars in Hong Kong?
