Gay Mexico: Is Mexico Safe Today?

Mexico has long been a favourite tourist destination year round. However, things have changed a bit recently. I love this quote from About.com:
“Crime, protests and violence can put a damper on your vacation, but you don’t have to cancel your vacation or travel somewhere else just because the headlines are nasty.” Thanks, that’s comforting! I would think a bloody murder, police frame up or kidnapping for ransom could really kill your vacation buzz. But all jokes aside, is gay and lesbian travel in Mexico still safe? Continue Reading »

Gay Travel Mexico: Spotlight on the Zona Rosa

One of the best gay Mexico spots is to spend time in is The Zona Rosa, knowns as the “gayborhood” in Mexico City. This translates into “pink zone” – there is also the Zona Rojo – the “red zone” as in, red light district. (Make sure you know which one you want to go to if you’re giving a cabbie directions)!
