Wondering where to go if you’re a lesbian in Seattle? I have only been here a few times, but the plan is to head over as summer turns to fall. From the bustling Pike Place market, to the Seattle Centre to the Seattle Art Museum, there is lots to do!

There are also a number of gay and lesbian bars in Seattle, from the leather daddy hangout The Cuff Complex to karaoke spot Changes Tavern. Here are a few of the favorite lesbian-friendly bars in Seattle:

Guppy’s (4752 California Ave. SW)
This bar and grill has a nice mix of gay, lesbian and straight patrons. This is a sporty bar where everyone is laid back and mingles, and I’ve heard more than a few times that the drinks are on the strong side, which may or may not be a good thing, depending on how many you’ve imbibed elsewhere.

The Wild Rose (1021 E Pike St.)
I have to mention the Wild Rose as it is the only truly lesbian bar in Seattle. It’s not a dance club, but a spot to meet up with friends or enjoy a cocktail. However, it does ruffle a lot of feathers, as some people have had less-than-stellar experiences here. Whether you think it’s a rude dive bar or a fun place to hang out, it’s a cornerstone of Seattle’s gay scene. The Wild Rose can be a good place to start out if you’re heading to a dance club later.

Neighbours (1509 Broadway, Seattle)
If you want a high energy dance club that mixes gay and lesbians, Neighbours is the place to go. Like I said, lesbian Seattle isn’t so much reflected in the clubs and bars. Like so many other cities, it’s more about lesbian nights at bars. Neighbours has been here for awhile, which is why it’s such a frequented spot. It’s goood for people watching as there is all types here. Depending on the night you visit you may hear 80’s tunes, see drag queens or go go boys, or get down to hip hop.
