Gay Florida: Fort Lauderdale – Really?
sydney on Jun 25th 2009
When you think of Fort Lauderdale, maybe you automatically think “Spring Break.” I know for me it conjures up thoughts of too many college students and too much Cuervo. However, there’s a lot more to it than that, and Fort Lauderdale travel has really grown up. Let’s call it a travel transformation. Greater Fort Lauderdale has about 100 gay-owned establishments – hotels, clubs, restaurants, and gay beach areas. It’s become one of the premier US gay and lesbian travel destinations. The Wilton Manor suburb is the centre of gay Fort Lauderdale. This is where most of the gay shops, hotels and bars are, although the surrounding areas are not too shabby, either.
