Gay New York: Drip at the Grace Hotel

Just got word about the New York City Party Pool place to be: Drip is a regular party hosted at the Grace Hotel Pool in New York. Grace might sound familiar – it was formerly known as QT, and has been snapped up by the Room Mate hotel chain. First, they modified the hotel to be trendier and more contemporary, then, they added the Drip pool party.
The Grace lobby pool is open 24 hours, and boasts a gorgeous backlit bar, steamy sauna and a steam room just behind the stadium steps. Drip is on Mondays, and has become a favorite among the gay crowd.
First, you can check out the cabaret performances across the street at the Night Hotel at a gay themed evening called Foreign Affairs. Next, don your bikini or speedo and head to Drip!
The crowd is generally quite young at the Grace Hotel, but there is a good mix of gay, straight, young and old folks, which makes for a nice ambience. The bar is two levels, so there are plenty of spots to park it and enjoy a cocktail. (Just don’t remove the swimwear, as there is security there to make sure you don’t strip down too much).
Also: DJ’s Jonjon Battles and Corey Tut round out the party, and there are usually drag and burlesque performances. throughout the eve. grace hotel is gorgeous! i go here all the time – sometimes to impress my tourist friends but most times to get my drink on! so much fun.
the performances are really scandalous (which i love) and the music is better. i haven’t been in a few weeks (fire island all summer, as usual), but i know they used to have an awesome dj named dj david marc. he kept me dancing so you know i had to cool off in the pool! madonna, natasha b, rihanna, craig david – so good! i think he’s a resident dj at the monster now, so i’ll be going there a lot too!
